Château de Preisch - Moselle trois Frontières - entretien collection du musée
The museum’s collection is being redone, under the watchful eye of Sir Tupelo. Winter is the opportunity to clean up the stains and give back its shine to copper...

From the Middle Ages to the helmets, we take advantage of this winter to clean up the dredges. It is a question of restoring its splendour to the collection of objects and works of art, dated between the 18th and 20th century and exhibited at the Preisch castle. It is a long and meticulous work that continues under the expert eye of our very dear Sir Tupelo.

Among other objects restored: helmets dated from the 17th to 19th century, such as an Indo-Persian helmet engraved with horsemen and animals, or a richly decorated Ottoman helmet. The halberds who welcome you on the first floor are not left out since they will be refreshed at their tip. The various pieces of armour displayed in the long corridor are actually from the complete armour that once decorated the staircase of the castle.

Every year, from mid-April to mid-October, you can discover the living rooms and dining room on the ground floor, then the bedrooms on the first floor, all refurbished after the war by the Gargan family, who have owned the premises since 1850. It is a collection that is both rich and diverse, which offers the opportunity to explore the history of the place, whose first stones in the park date back to the Middle Ages.

"Cat" will be a great season with you again this year, as Sir Tupelo would say!
